This Week At The Club
(a great way to meet new people)
Tuesday Morning Social Tennis (9-11am)
Wednesday Evening Mixed (6:30-8:30pm)
Thursday Evening 6:30pm Duplicate Bridge
Sunday Social (2-4pm)
Wow - what a weekend of tennis! I sure hope many of you enjoyed your Davis Cup
experience, I know I did. What a buzz there is about tennis locally as a result
of this event. If you have a friend talking to you about tennis all of a sudden
- invite them down to the club to try it out!
Along the same lines, we also owe many thanks to many people for their hard work
to make this event happen. For example the phenomenal people at Tennis Canada,
Tennis Nova Scotia, Trade Center Limited, and the Provincial and Municipal
governments. If you would like to see more tennis of this calibre here, lets
ride this wave and start communicating this message to these bodies immediately,
before the excitement leaves our bodies.
It is also worth noting as a result of the Davis Cup experience, the new Chief
Marketing Officer at Tennis Canada visited the club. We had a great visit, a
great idea exchange, and had some pictures tweeted out through the Tennis Canada
Awards Night - Sept 27, 6-8pm -
This is a time when we sort of wrap up our season for adults. It is a fun filled
social evening and certainly a night full of laughs and smiles is always
promised. Please mark this event on your calendar. More details will follow.
Board Recruiting -
We need people to join a few groups:
* The Nominating Committee - A short term committee to find members to
sit on the Board of Directors. Iain MacLeod is the chair of this
committee. We need two club members that do not sit with the board for
this committee per our constitution.
* The Board of Directors<
* Sub-committees : For example, Welcome Wagon (welcoming new members to
the club), Heritage Committee (focus on club tournament winners and
lifetime membership recipients), Membership (helping promote the club
and sell club memberships), and Fundraising.
