St. George's 125th Anniversary Celebrations

St. George's will be hosting two events to celebrate the Club's 125th anniversary. Period dress is welcomed.

Junior Event

On the morning of Friday, August 6, between ten o'clock and noon, junior members are invited to participate in a round-robin tennis event featuring prizes, cake and ice cream.

Anniversary Tea

On the afternoon of Saturday, August 7, beginning at two o'clock, members, past members and special guests are invited to attend the following celebration:

  • Background music by accordionist, Mr. Gerry Vrbensky
  • Welcome by President
  • National Anthem
  • Introduction of Guests
  • Greetings from the Province and Halifax Regional Municipality
  • Music and Songs through the Years with "The Swinging Racquets"
  • Tennis Exhibition
  • Brief Comments about St. George's
  • Tea is Served with Mr. Steve Dooks at the piano (Tennis players are encouraged to show their outfits and playing styles on the courts at this time as well)
